Privacy Policy
Last updated November 2, 2026
- Your reviews are shown without your name. Chapters never see who wrote a review.
- We don't sell your personal information, and we don't show ads.
- You can download your data or delete your account at any time from your profile.
- We only email you about your account and activity you asked for, never marketing without your consent.
GreekImpact ("we", "us") runs greekimpact.com, a place to research fraternity and sorority chapters through reviews and outcomes, and to find jobs posted by alumni. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions? Email privacy@greekimpact.com.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Your account: your email address, or your name and email from Google if you sign in with Google.
- Your profile: your display name, your connection to Greek life (for example member, alum, recruit, student or parent), your school, class year and major, and, if you choose, your employer, job title, resume and whether you're open to work.
- Memberships: the chapter you say you belong to, and whether that membership has been approved.
- Reviews: your ratings, the strengths and improvements you pick, any written comment, and, for members and alumni, answers about internships, jobs and graduating on time.
- Jobs: job posts you publish, and applications you send or receive.
- Chapter claims: if you claim a chapter page, the role you give, the chapter's social media handle, and the code sent from that account to ours.
- Messages to us: anything you send to our support address or social accounts.
Information we collect automatically
- Sign-in and security data: when you signed in, and basic technical information our hosting providers log, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We use it to keep the site running and to stop abuse.
- Cookies: we use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to make the site work. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- School email status: if you sign in with a .edu address, we record that it's confirmed and which school it belongs to. We use this to mark reviews as verified.
How reviews stay anonymous
- Reviews appear without your name or email. A review shows your connection (for example "Alum"), your class year if you gave it, and the date.
- Chapter admins can respond to reviews and approve members, but our systems never show them who wrote a review, and we designed the chapter tools so they can't work it out from approvals.
- A small number of GreekImpact staff can see who wrote a review, only to moderate content and prevent abuse.
- Anonymity has limits. What you write can identify you, so leave out details that point to you or to other people. We may also have to share information if the law requires it (see below).
How we use your information
- To run your account, sign you in and show your profile and activity to you.
- To publish reviews and calculate chapter scores, including the Advantage Score.
- To verify reviews, memberships and chapter claims, and to prevent fake or coordinated reviews.
- To connect job seekers with alumni who post jobs.
- To send emails about your account, such as sign-in links and codes, confirmations and replies to you.
- To keep the site secure, fix problems and improve it.
- To meet legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only in these cases:
- Publicly, as you choose: reviews (without your name), and job posts.
- With people you interact with: when you apply to a job, the alum who posted it sees your application. When you ask to join a chapter, its admins see your name, connection and class year, never your reviews.
- Service providers who run parts of GreekImpact for us, under contracts that limit how they use your data:
- Supabase: database and sign-in
- Vercel: hosting
- Resend: email delivery
- Google: Google sign-in and our support email
- A payment processor such as Stripe, once we offer paid features. We never store card numbers.
- For legal reasons: if required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect someone's safety or our rights.
- Business changes: if GreekImpact is merged or sold, your information may transfer, still covered by this policy.
Your choices and rights
- See and download your data: use "Download my data" on your profile.
- Correct it: edit your profile or your reviews at any time.
- Delete a review: from "My reviews" on your profile.
- Delete your account: from your profile. Your profile, memberships, applications and sign-in email are deleted. Your reviews stay up anonymously, no longer linked to any account, so delete any you want removed first. To stop the same person re-reviewing a chapter, we keep a one-way scrambled code made from your email for 12 months. It can't be turned back into your address.
- Ask us: email privacy@greekimpact.com for any request, including removing a review after you've deleted your account. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under state privacy laws, and we'll honor them.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete something, we remove it from the live site right away. Copies in backups are removed on the providers' normal schedule. We keep a record of moderation and admin actions as long as we need it to prevent abuse and meet legal duties.
Security
We use encryption in transit, strict access rules in our database, and sign-in without passwords. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us at support@greekimpact.com if you notice anything wrong.
Age
GreekImpact is for people 16 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we'll delete the account.
Changes
We'll post any changes here and update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll tell you by email or on the site.
