Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and GreekImpact ("we", "us") for using greekimpact.com. By using the site you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use GreekImpact.

Who can use GreekImpact

• You must be at least 16 years old.
• Keep one account, with accurate information about who you are and your connection to Greek life. Accounts made with throwaway email services aren't allowed.
• You're responsible for activity on your account. Keep access to your email secure.

Reviews

What you agree to when you write a review

• It's an honest account of your own experience with that chapter.
• You follow the review limits: members and alumni review only their own chapter, and recruits, students and parents have their own limits.
• You don't name or identify individual members, or share anyone's private information.
• No harassment, threats, hate speech, sexual content, or statements you know are false.
• You weren't paid or pressured to write it, and you don't write reviews for or against a chapter on someone else's behalf.
• If you have a safety concern, such as hazing, report it to your school or the authorities. A review isn't a way to report an emergency.

How we handle reviews

• Reviews with written comments are checked before they're posted. We may hold, edit for privacy, or remove any review that breaks these terms, and we use automatic checks to spot fake or coordinated reviews.
• Reviews may be marked Verified or Unverified, and verification affects how much a review counts in scores.
• You keep ownership of what you write. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, adapt (for example, to remove personal details) and use it to run and promote GreekImpact, including after you delete your account, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Scores and information on the site

Reviews are the opinions of the people who wrote them, not of GreekImpact. The Advantage Score and other scores come from our published method (see How we score) and the data available to us. They're for information only, not a guarantee, endorsement or ranking by any school or national organization. Use your own judgment when making decisions.

Chapter pages and chapter admins

• Only claim a chapter page if you're authorized by the chapter to manage it. We verify claims and can remove admins at any time.
• Chapter admins can respond to reviews, approve members and edit the chapter's details. They can't delete, hide or reorder reviews, and they can't pay to change scores.
• Chapter responses must follow the same rules as reviews.

Jobs

• Alumni who post jobs are responsible for their posts, including that the role is real and lawful and follows equal-opportunity laws.
• We don't employ anyone through GreekImpact or guarantee any job, interview or hire. When you apply, your application is shared with the person who posted the job.

Paid features

Some features may cost money. The price and what you get will be shown before you pay, and any refund terms will be stated at purchase. Payments are handled by our payment processor.

Things you may not do

• Create fake accounts, impersonate anyone, or manipulate reviews or scores.
• Scrape, copy in bulk, or resell content from GreekImpact without our written permission.
• Try to find out who wrote a review, or to break into, overload or interfere with the site.
• Use GreekImpact for anything illegal, or to harass or discriminate against anyone.

Names and trademarks

GreekImpact is independent. We aren't affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any fraternity, sorority, national organization, council or school. Their names, letters and marks belong to their owners and are used only to identify them.

Reporting content

If you think something on GreekImpact breaks these terms or infringes your rights, email support@greekimpact.com with a link and an explanation. Chapter admins can also flag reviews from their portal.

Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time from your profile. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, or remove content, with or without notice.

Disclaimers and limits

GreekImpact is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about the site or its content, and we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for content posted by users. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50. You agree to cover our reasonable costs if a claim arises from content you post or from your breaking these terms. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll post changes here and update the date at the top, and tell you about significant changes. If you keep using GreekImpact after a change, you accept the new terms.
